Nature Tours

Cape Town is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is enveloped by the warm Indian Ocean as well as the Atlantic Ocean, making it a unique destination. The Western Cape boasts abundant plant and animal life and its botanical beauty is unparalleled. We invite you to discover the many natural treasures of Cape Town with our informative and truly enjoyable tours. Come discover a piece of Africa with us…

These gardens are an absolute wonder to explore! Without needing to travel, you can experience many of the floral and botanical delights this country has to offer. Most notably, Kirstenbosch is home to a wonderful display of the plants from the Cape Floral Kingdom (one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site), not to mention the exquisite birdlife!

We conduct either half or full day tours of the gardens, depending on how much you want to see or how relaxed you want to take the day.

Towering at 1067 meters above sea level the majestic Table Mountain stands proudly overlooking the entire city of Cape Town. Don’t be fooled however by its close proximity to the City – the flora on the mountain makes up one of only 6 floral kingdoms in the world and has been declared a world heritage site. There is an estimated 2,200 species of plants found on the mountain and a guided walk up the mountain is the best way to experience this diverse and unique bounty.

Let us take you on a guided walking tour up the mountain where we will stop often to explore the plant and animal life. You will be given plenty of opportunities to take pictures along the way and to relax and drink in the unparalleled beauty.

At the top be sure to purchase for yourself a certificate proclaimimg to all that you have climbed one of the most beautiful mountains in the world.

“Fynbos” is the name given to the vegetation type which occurs in the south western portion of South Africa, a component of the Cape Floral Kingdom. This community of plants is so special that it is declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The statistics are staggering: It is a biodiversity hotspot with over 9500 species described (so far – research is ongoing) in an area occupying only 0.04% of the earth’s surface! There are more different plant species growing on Table Mountain than there are total species in the whole United Kingdom (islands included).

Let us take you on a very easy, slow walk (with some spectacular views) through a section of this amazing plant kingdom to give you a taste of just how special and important it is.

The Western Cape is a bird lovers paradise. The wide range of natural habitats found in the Cape, ranging from wetlands and coastal areas to mountains and forests make possible for a wide and intriguing range of bird species. Birds of prey in this region include Black Eagle, Jackal Buzzard, Kite and Owls amongst many. Cape Town is not far behind New Zealand as the sea bird capital of the world and a boat trip to view pelagic seabirds offshore is a must for any bird lover.

We can arrange both half day and full day tours visiting the best spots for birding in the Cape. So whether you’re a ticker or a twitcher, grab your binoculars and let’s go birding!
