TOWNSHIP TOUR

Visit to various urban living areas reserved for non-whites during Apartheid. The townships are the heart and soul of Cape Town.

District Six Museum - showcasing the forced removals of non-whites from the centre of Cape Town to the outskirts of the city | African Townships of Gugulethu, Nyanga, and Khayelitsha | Includes visit to a traditional Healer known as a Sangoma | Amy Biehl Memorial | Local tavern and plenty of opportunities for interaction with the locals | Coloured and Indian Townships of Athlone, Rylands and Mitchell’s Plain.

This tour can be extended to include a visit to Robben Island - This World Heritage Site which was the detention centre for political prisoners including Nelson Mandela can be arranged at an extra cost (3 - 4 hours extra time is required).
